Overview

Leaving the land in good condition

A renewable project doesn’t end when the panels go live. Ground disturbed during construction has to be reinstated, soils restored, and habitats enhanced to meet the planning and biodiversity conditions attached to the consent.

HWBC delivers that final stage in-house — from topsoil reinstatement and cultivation through to seeding and habitat works, returning construction areas, cable routes and compounds to productive or ecologically valuable ground.

What we deliver

Restoration, end to end

01

Reinstatement

Restoring construction areas, cable runs, trenches and compounds to their intended final condition.

02

Topsoil Management

Careful stripping, storage and respreading of topsoil to protect soil structure and quality.

03

Cultivation & Seeding

Power-harrowing, cultivation and seeding to re-establish grassland, wildflower or agricultural cover.

04

Habitat Enhancement

Seeding regimes, wildflower margins and habitat features supporting biodiversity and net-gain commitments.

05

Landscape Reinstatement

Regrading, surface preparation and finishing to return the land to an agreed standard.

06

Ongoing Aftercare

Follow-up works and reinstatement support to help establishment take.

Planning & biodiversity

Meeting the conditions of consent

Solar and BESS consents increasingly come with conditions on landscape, ecology and biodiversity — management plans, net-gain commitments and reinstatement standards. Meeting them is part of discharging the planning conditions and handing the site over cleanly.

HWBC understands what those conditions ask for and delivers the works that satisfy them — one less risk on the programme for developers and principal contractors.
